High-speed railway to Eilat – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The railway, if built, is expected to serve both passengers and freight. The high-speed passenger service will carry travelers from Tel Aviv to Eilat in two hours or less with one intermediate stop (at the Be’er Sheva North Railway Station), and with a slower service offering from Beersheba to Eilat, stopping at a number of towns and villages in the Arava. The freight service will serve as an alternative to the Suez Canal, allowing countries in Asia to pass goods to Europe through Israel.

Yediot: Secret Israeli-Egypt Efforts to Counter Iran Threat, IDF Report Confirms Eilat Terror Cells Not from Gaza

Yediot Achronot’s veteran military correspondent, Alex Fishman, reveals for the first time the substance of the secret IDF report about the Eilat terror attack. I should add that I don’t agree with or accept many of the premises offered by Fishman below. But it’s instructive to hear what he has to say because it reveals the thinking of the Israeli military-intelligence apparatus.
